Like humans and animals, plants also need both water and nutrients for survival. Most plants use water to hold moisture and nutrients back and forth between the roots and leaves. Water, similarly to nutrients, is generally concerned through the roots from the soil. Fertilizer also provides plants with nutrients and is typically given to plants when watering. The foremost important nutrients for plants’ growing needs are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). Nitrogen is critical for creating green leaves, phosphorus is required for creating big flowers and robust roots, and potassium helps the plants oppose disease. Deficient or an excessive amount of water or nutrients may be harmful.
